Our 5-year-old niece recently visited from Burns Lake, and we took her to Science World in Vancouver, BC. The featured exhibition was called A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature. It was an interactive exhibit that explained the mathematical patterns found in the natural world. Being a Tangler, I absolutely loved this exhibit! The centerpiece of the exhibition was an 1800 square foot elaborate mirror maze. We learned a lot about Fractural Branching, Spirals, Golden Ratio, and Voronoi Patterns. There was also some very cool artwork featured by different mathematicians/artist If you get a chance, I highly recommend you check it out. The exhibition is on until September 3, and BC Teachers get free admission to Science World.
