A couple weeks ago, I was invited to join a facebook group called Random Act of Zentangle. The group is open to anyone currently practicing the art of Zentangle and leaving works in a public place where it can be found by someone else. It is also open to anyone who finds a RAZ (Random Act of Zentangle).
Random Acts of Zentangle are usually tiles that have been lovingly tangled and left for someone to find. I was inspired to tangle bookmarks (instead of tiles) because I have been checking out a lot of books from the library lately, and I thought if might be fun to leave a RAZ in the books that I really enjoy.
Here are my first two RAZs (Random Acts of Zentangle).
On the back of each bookmark, I included a little blurb that says...
You have found a
Random Act of Zentangle!
A special work of art left here especially for you.
Keep it or give it away
Enjoy your day!

At first, I had an uneasy feeling about sending my RAZ into the world. What if people didn't like it. What if they judged me? What if they just threw it in the garbage? What if no one ever found it? But then I decided to focus on how much I love tangling and how much I enjoyed making each bookmark. I focused on the possibility that all the positive energy I put into making each RAZ had the potential to brighten someone's day, and then I remembered the following quote which made me feel okay sending my RAZ out into the world....
"Every time you put something positive into the universe, the world changes. Your kindness invites miracles to show up, not just in your world, but in the whole world". ~ Unknown Author
